Jason Nguyen, MD is a proud Oklahoman, being born and raised in Moore, OK, and graduating from Westmoore High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma on a full academic scholarship. Dr. Nguyen developed a passion for ophthalmology after having cataract surgery himself before starting medical school at the University of Oklahoma. During medical school, he participated in an international mission trip to Uganda. This experience taught him the importance of medical work abroad and the gift of sight, further reinforcing his desire to become an ophthalmologist. He completed a year of research at the renowned Moran Eye Center in Salt Lake City, where he published over 10 peer-reviewed articles, mostly pertaining to premium intraocular lenses and advances in ophthalmic technology.

During his ophthalmology residency at the West Virginia University Eye Institute, he was elected chief resident and presented with the resident of the year award. He received LASIK himself, sparking his interest in refractive surgery, after being very nearsighted his entire life. He has presented at major ophthalmic meetings, including ASCRS and ARVO, and received the award for Best Paper Session. After completion of his residency, Dr. Nguyen was excited to be able to return home to serve his fellow Oklahomans.

Dr. Nguyen is a board-certified cataract and refractive surgeon. His services include refractive cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Outside of his career, Dr. Nguyen has a love for travel and food; having traveled to over 30 countries and climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. He is a die-hard Thunder and Sooners fan and enjoys homebrewing and trivia.
