Dr. Nguyen completed an internship at OU Health and Sciences Center. He then went on to Ophthalmology residency at the WVU Eye Institute in Morgantown, West Virginia where he was elected Chief Resident and presented with the Resident of the year award.
Dr. Jason Nguyen is a board certified ophthalmologist and surgeon who specializes in cataract surgery and comprehensive medical eye care. An Oklahoma native, he was born and raised in South OKC. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.S. in Zoology-Biomedical Sciences.
As a former cataract surgery patient himself, he gained unique insight into the patient’s perspective and his interests quickly shifted to ophthalmology before starting medical school at the University of Oklahoma. He participated in a year of research at the renowned Moran Eye Center, pursuing projects relating to the development and advances in premium intraocular lens technology. Findings from these projects led to publications in several prominent ophthalmology journals.
Dr Nguyen has presented at major ophthalmological meetings, ASCRS and ARVO, and was awarded Best Paper Session. Dr. Nguyen is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
Outside of work, he enjoys sports and is an avid Sooners and Thunder fan. He likes trivia, hiking, fantasy football, travel and cooking.
